Yoga Therapy for the Mind – 8 Week Course with Veena Ugargol

This eight-week course offers a structured, evidence-based approach to building lasting mental wellbeing, drawing on yoga, mindfulness meditation (the foundation of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) and psychotherapeutic support. Meeting weekly for two hours, you’ll explore the body–mind connection through asana, pranayama and restorative mindfulness practices.

Who it’s for

Designed for anyone looking to improve their wellbeing, or managing chronic stress, mild-to-moderate depression or anxiety. Over the course you’ll learn to:

  • Better manage stress, anxiety and/or depression
  • Enhance concentration and focus
  • Expand your tolerance of uncomfortable feelings
  • Improve wellbeing and build resilience

You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of the physiological and psychological dimensions of stress, anxiety and depression β€” plus a practical toolkit for the short and long term.

Please note: this group course is not suitable for PTSD, severe depression or serious mental health conditions, where private one-to-one sessions are recommended instead.

About Veena

Veena Ugargol is a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, EMDR Therapist and Yoga Therapist with over 10 years’ experience treating depression and anxiety disorders within the NHS and privately. She lectures and supervises at the Minded Institute and combines yoga therapy, mindfulness, psychotherapy and neuroscience in her work. Her own research found participants showed significant improvement in anxiety and mild depression compared to a control group.
