TRAINING OVERVIEW
This comprehensive training empowers teachers with the skills and knowledge to guide students through yoga practices for pregnancy, birth preparation, and postpartum healing, while also introducing baby yoga techniques.
Having a baby is a life-changing experience, and yoga offers a nurturing, supportive space for individuals to connect with their baby, move their body, and adapt to the emotional, energetic, and physical changes that occur during and after pregnancy.
Background
Gain a general overview of the physical and psychological changes that can occur during pregnancy and postpartum and explore how yoga can support individuals through these transformative stages. Learn when to appropriately refer students to healthcare professionals and understand the psychological considerations of becoming a mother and how to differentiate between high-risk and non-high-risk pregnancies.
Asana
Safe posture adaptations for each trimester and postpartum, including birth prep and common ailments.
Pranayama
Learn which breathing techniques support pregnancy and birth and which to avoid.
Meditation & Relaxation Techniques
Learn relaxation methods to guide students through pregnancy and prepare for birth.
Mudras
Learn to teach hand and moving mudras that deepen focus and connection for mothers-to-be.
Anatomy & Physiology
Gain clear understanding of pregnancy-related body changes to inform safe teaching.
Philosophy
Explore yoga philosophy and how to teach its relevance to pregnancy and motherhood.
Matrescence
Learn to recognise and support the psychological and emotional shifts of becoming a mother.
Use of Props
Learn how to skillfully use props to support, adapt, and enhance pregnancy yoga classes.
• Teaching Practice
Practice teaching throughout the course to confidently lead pregnancy and mother–baby yoga classes.
• Postnatal Focus (Final Two Days)
Learn to adapt classes for postnatal recovery, integrate babies, and support bonding.
After this course you can
Requirements/ Who is this training for?
Assessment Criteria
- Attend 100% of the course
- Complete the 60 minute teaching practice of a pregnancy yoga class
- Complete 2 pregnancy yoga class observations
- Complete 2 Mother and Baby class observations
- Complete a short reflective essay

Required Equipment
- A small cushion/blanket to make a baby bump
- A demonstration doll/teddy for the Mother and Baby portion of the course. (Please ensure that it is big enough for the class to see what you are demonstrating and the arms and legs are moveable.)

Cancellation Policy
- Deposits are non refundable
- Course balance is due by the 31st of January 2026
- To receive your certificate you will need to attend the full course and all of it’s modules
- If you choose to cancel 8 weeks before the start of your course, you will receive 50% of the full course fee minus the deposit.
- If you cancel your place on the course less than 8 weeks before the first day, we are unable to offer a refund.
